STEM Education Center

SFGS’s STEM Education Center partners with twelve all-girls public schools, and in this way, reach a broad and diverse community.

The Center also is developing STEM coursework to expand the offerings of in-depth STEM courses over and above what typical high schools can offer.

Over the last three years, we’ve hosted an Intro to STEM Careers speaker, introducing this nationwide community of girls to different STEM professions and young women at different points in their careers.

Center speakers are diverse, and many represent underserved and underrepresented groups in STEM: women of color, immigrants, and first-generation college students. Their stories inspire the hundreds of public school students in our audience to believe they can pursue STEM and achieve their dreams.
